However I have the same problems with fans ramping up and down. Got my ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB OC a couple of weeks a go.Īs you all know it is an absolutely amazing card performance wise. Have checked with other ppl owning this card and theirs do the same. The fans does not work properly under 17%-18% setting the fan speed below this will make the fans do this stop and start thing. Normally there is a few degrees of tolerance set in the fan curve to stop this annoying on and off thing.Īre there any bios updates for the 1080ti strix that can fix this? I fixed the problem myself by installing MSI afterburner to set a custom fan curve and fan hysteresis.Ģ. For example if the fans are set to start at 60 degrees and the fans start and gets the temp down to 59 the fans will start and stop and start and stop and so on because the temp is flucuating between 59 fan off and 60 fan on. It is lacking fan hysteresis which means that fan speed goes up and down if the temp stays at the temp set in the fan curve. The stock fan curve does two things wrong.ġ. If the problem persist, please return your unit to your retailer and ask for a replacement if you can
Have you updated your drivers?ĭoes the same issue occur when installed on a different computer?
